Cervantes wrote, “A proverb is a short sentence based on long experience.” Clever man. One of the hallmarks of good writing (novels, poetry, screenplays, shopping lists, whatever) is economy; to get the most power out of the least words.
One of my favorite sayings is: “You can suffocate a thought by expressing it with too many words.” Good advice to all of us. And so, taking that advice, I'll shut up now. Here then, for your pleasure, is my collection of great sayings. I hope you like my choices, and also my very simple, easy-to-navigate website. I'll keep adding good sayings as I find them, hoping, of course, to lure you back.
