It's not that I hate free verse, it's just that it annoys me when people produce trivial work then claim the same credit as those who produce great work. Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Shakespeare, and many others write great poetry. Free verse is not poetry, and to claim it is, is cheating. Poetry requires rhyme and meter. It's the cadence that makes poetry poetry. Of course it's all the other words that make it good or bad poetry, but without the song quality, it's not poetry.
Here then, for your pleasure, is my collection of great poems. I hope you like my choices, and also my very simple, easy-to-navigate website. I'll keep adding poetry, hoping, obviously, to lure you back.
